What is Somnia Domain Services (SDS)?

Somnia Domain Service is a decentralized domain layer on the Somnia Shannon Testnet.

It allows users to register human-readable, unique domain names like:

• jack.som

• lucy.som

• bountyHunter123.som

These names are:

• 🌐 Fully on-chain and public

• 🧾 Unique and lowercase-normalized (no JaCk.som vs jack.som conflicts)

• 💰 Claimed by paying 1 STT (native token) — directly to the contract

Why it matters

SDS can be integrated into any Somnia-based dApp:

• Games

• Messaging apps

• Wallets

• Social platforms

Any user who registers a .som name becomes uniquely identifiable across Somnia's ecosystem.
